Product Overview

 

HPS manufactures this Custom Punched Sheet Metal Enclosure Part to serve as an internal support chassis for electronic devices. 

 

The component is fabricated using Trumpf TruPunch technology to create ventilation cutouts and, most notably, extruded collars (plunged holes). These collars are tapped directly during production, providing integral threads that eliminate the need for welding nuts or inserting PEM fasteners. 

 

We form the final U-shape on CNC press brakes, ensuring precise dimensional accuracy for mounting power supplies or cooling fans.

Key Features & Advantages

 

Integrated Threading: The side flanges feature extruded and tapped holes. This "self-threading" design reduces the bill of materials (BOM) by removing loose hardware, speeding up the final assembly line.

Precision Fitment: Designed as an internal structural part, tolerance control is critical. We maintain bending tolerances of ±0.1mm to ensure the bracket aligns perfectly with the main external housing and internal circuit boards.

Material Conductivity: Manufactured from Electro-Galvanized Steel (SECC), the part maintains electrical conductivity for grounding purposes, which is essential for meeting EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) requirements in electronics.

Burr-Free Fabrication: All punched edges and cutouts are deburred mechanically. This prevents damage to sensitive wires or cables that pass through the unit.

Complex Forming: The part involves multiple bending operations in close proximity. Our Trumpf TruBend 5230 capability allows us to form short flanges and offset bends without deforming the pre-punched holes.
